EVENTO
Animating shallow waters scenarios using Lattice Boltzmann
Tipo de evento: Seminário LNCC
Lattice Boltzmann is a class of discrete dynamical systems that can be used to simulate a variety of physical problems, in particular transport phenomena, like diffusion and fluid flow. The algorithm is based in the representation of fields by the streaming and interaction of pseudo-particles associated with an internal set of directions. In this talk, a Lattice-Boltzmann model of shallow waters will be described, which was used to support graphic animations of open waters and marine scenarios, including the interaction with static and moving structures. Moreover, it will be shown that by rendering specially chosen variables it is possible to generate visual effects, like wakes and foam.
